I just have to make a quick post about this sling. My sweet sissy-in-law got it for me before Landon was born. I didn't have much success using it when he was a tiny little guy. But now Landon and I both can't get enough of it.
I used the baby bjorn a lot with Zoe and really liked it. But this is SO much easier. Just a simple piece of fabric. Landon loves to just hang out in it. And it seems so much more comfortable for him than just hanging there in the bjorn. If he loves being held as much as Zoe did (or wait... does!), I will be using this for a looong time.

BA-BOO!
Excuse the silly title, but I've heard that phrase about a gazillion times today and it keeps replaying over and over and over in my head... you'll see why soon. :)
I have to post these pictures for my mom:
These muffins were delicious. And oh, so pretty! Four of my favorite things, combined into one: bacon, eggs, cheese and carbs. ;) Yum!
This afternoon between my classes, Zoe and I tackled a little project that I've been wanting to do with her for awhile now. I bought this cute lamp for her room a month or two ago (due to there being NO ceiling lights in any of the bedrooms in our new place). I think you can see it in a picture in a previous post. The lamp shade has little 'pockets' for photos or artwork. Zoe LOVES to paint with a paint brush--the paintings usually end up as a big glob of brownish gray paint, due to how much she enjoys mixing all the colors together.
So instead of pulling out the paint brushes, I had her help me find some 'stamps' from around the house:
And she made these:
I'm pretty proud of her and how great they came out. :) Of course I forgot to snap a photo of the finished project.
Now just one final thing before the finale! Zoe received a box in the mail yesterday from Aunt Bridget. You would have thought Zoe had gone shopping and picked this little gift out for herself. And I can guarantee she will be living in this for the next 2 years, straight. Introducing Princess Zoe!
This picture was taken at about 6:15 this morning. I was awoken to some Cinderella frill tickling my face as Zoe asked for me to help her change out of her pajamas and into her princess dress. As you will see soon, she's wearing the dress in the video I'm about to post, which was taken at 7pm. She changed out of the dress for about an hour today, just long enough for us to run an errand. The second we stepped in the door she ran for the dress.
Now, the video. I'm so glad I caught this moment on camera. Landon and Zoe are so crazy about eachother and I just love it. He sees her and his arms and legs start flying all over the place with a huge grin on his face. Zoe gets so excited about every little "coo" he makes and just thinks he's the cutest thing. Hope you enjoy this even half as much as I do!

Easter!
We had such a fun Easter sunday. Every year just gets more and more exciting as Zoe gets older and able to do more. I dread the day that I have 2 grumpy teenagers that don't want to do any of the fun things I look so forward to. But until then...
The Easter Bunny left a trail of paper eggs for Zoe to follow when she woke up to find her basket
Little dude slept through the whole thing!
Zoe had so much fun decorating Easter eggs last year. But as for me--not so much. It was more work and mess than it should have been. This year we decided to try something a little different, and I'm so glad we did. Zoe still got to help with the dying part, but we spent a good hour decorating the dyed eggs and had so much fun laughing at the fun things we came up with.
Hope everyone else had a wonderful Easter sunday!

A few Connecticut pictures
I know this trip was close to a month ago. Better late than never. Right!?
And now... the snow! Zoe asked every day we were there if it was going to snow. So as grumpy as I was about the few inches of snow that came down, it was fun to see how much she loved it.
Just arriving to the Maritime Aquarium. One of our favorite places to visit. |
Posing with the jelly fish. |
Happy to be out of the stroller! |
Doing a little 'fishing'. |
This picture makes me laugh. My little fisherman. |
Our favorite part. Zoe can climb through this little tunnel, and pop up in this bubble so that she's right in the middle of a meerkat habitat. |

A little this, a little that
I am hopefully importing pictures from my camera right now. Hopefully. So while I wait for that, I'll update on the past few days.
Yesterday was my birthday, and I got to spend the majority of the day (minus one 3 hour class) with my three favorite people. After my class (which ended at 6pm), we went to a mexican restaurant in town that I've been wanting to try, and ended the day with some delicious cake. I was very impressed. There was no cake when I left for class, but a few hours later when I got out, there were finger painted birthday pictures from both kids (I guess you could say Landon's was 'foot painted') and Pat had somehow found the time to bake the cake.
This afternoon, while Pat was at work, I decided I wanted to make these to go with our dinner, but of course we didn't have enough potatoes. Since we were car-less (Pat took the car to work), we ventured out on our first walk to the grocery store. Zoe and I have been talking about doing this for awhile now. Basha's is super close, but I guess I was just nervous about getting both kids and the huge double stroller down the stairs, and around the crowded store. BUT--it went really well. Phew!
Before I start posting a few of the pictures that are hopefully done importing, I have to brag about my kids. Landon has started rolling over like crazy. I'm just loving this age, and all the fun things that start happening and changing every day.
Enjoying a little tummy time. |
Starting to get grumpy. |
TAH-DAH!! |
And here's my beautiful little gal. As I was doing my hair yesterday, she wanted her hair curled. And I just couldn't resist.
I can't help but think that she was channeling her inner Farrah Fawcett. |
I changed my mind about going through all the pictures on my camera right now. Zoe is done with her 'quiet time' and Landon is starting to wake up from his nap. I will try to find a spare moment tonight to post pictures from our Connecticut trip.

Here we go again!
I have really missed blogging lately. I enjoyed using my old blog to keep family in Arizona updated on our life while we were living in Connecticut, but then as soon as we moved I stopped posting. After a trip back to CT this past month and realizing how terrible I am at sending pictures and exciting news to them, and how fun it is for me to read friend's blogs, I decided to jump back on the band wagon.
Things have been pretty crazy here lately. To the point that I am feeling guilty for sitting down at the computer to write this post up.
About a month ago, we moved into our new apartment. Before we could unpack any boxes, we had to pack suitcases for our spring break trip to visit family in Connecticut. We returned from those 10 days to our boxed up apartment, and although we have been back for 3 weeks now, I still don't feel like much has been accomplished. Two of the three weekends have been spent in Tucson (the first weekend, my sister was on break between semesters and hadn't met her newest nephew yet. And the second weekend was our 5k!)

Here we are, post-race! |
Both kids are asleep right now, and Pat is at work. As much as I would love to sit at the computer for another 20 minutes, I guess I should go take advantage of my free hands and get some more unpacking done. But not before I give a quick glimpse of the progress we've made so far:
And now, the only 100% unpacked room. Zoe's (and what will soon be Landon's) room. |
